Entry Requirements

Themis School of Law has similar entry requirements as those specified by the University of London, for admission onto the Law programmes. The entry requirements consists of:

General Requirements;
Academic Requirements; and
English Language Requirement.

However, meeting of the entry requirements is not the sole criteria for admission to Themis School of Law. An applicant must also successfully clear the admission process (including a test and interview for admission onto the CertHe (Common Law) and an interview for admission onto the LLB (Hons) programme or the Themis Foundation in Law programme) to guarantee admission at Themis School of Law. Entry Requirements LLB (Hons)

General Requirements:-

To be eligible to register for the LLB (Hons) programme, you must normally be at least 17 years of age at the time of registration and satisfy the University’s General Entrance requirements given below:-

Academics Requirements:-

STANDARD ENTRY (3 YEAR PROGRAMME):

Three (3) UK GCSE / GCE O level passes at grade A – C / 9 – 4 in non-overlapping subjects; PLUS Two (2) further UK GCE A level passes at grade A - E in non-overlapping subjects; OR

Three (3) UK GCE Advanced level passes in non-overlapping subjects, where grade EED or above is achieved; OR

Bachelor’s degree (i.e. B.Com, B.A.) awarded by an institution acceptable to the University of London.

GRADUATE ENTRY (2 YEAR PROGRAMME)*:

Graduates holding an undergraduate degree, which is at least four years (4) full time in duration, from an acceptable university in Pakistan; OR

Graduates holding a 2 or 3 year Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s Degree.

*Students who are successfully inducted on the LLB (Hons) Programmme through the Graduate Entry route are required to complete the Introduction to English Law (LA1050) course in their first year of study. Please note that students enrolled at Themis School of Law are provided support in completion of the aforesaid course.

English Language Requirements:-

The language of instruction, reading and assessment of the LLB (Hons) degree is English therefore success in the LLB (Hons) programme requires a good level of English competence. Any candidates in doubt as to their abilities in written and/or oral English are strongly advised to undertake English language courses and tests before enrollment.

Applicants will meet the English language requirements on the basis that they:

Hold a UK GCSE / GCE O level in English at grade C or above; or

Passed acceptable examinations in English equivalent to GCSE/ GCE ‘O’ Level English Language grade C; or

Passed, at an appropriate level within the past three years, a test of proficiency in English that is acceptable to the University of London, such as SAT and International English Language Testing System (IELTS) where an overall score of at least 6.0 is achieved with a minimum of 5.5 in each band.

Entry Requirements CertHE in Common Law

General Requirements:-

The applicant must normally be aged 18 years or older before 1st October in the year they register with Themis School of Law.

Academics Requirements:-

The applicant must meet the minimum age requirement and must have completed any of the following qualifications:-

Intermediate Qualification

O-Level Qualification

AS Level Qualification

A Level Qualification but the grades achieved do not satisfy the entry requirements of the University of London LLB Programme

The applicant must pass the University of London’s Online Entrance Test and the Interview with Themis School of Law.

English Language Requirements:-

Applicants for the CertHE need to demonstrate a good level of English Language skills to be admitted to the Programme. Themis School of Law accepts a range of English Language proficiency evidence, including proficiency test scores such as O-Level English Language Examination, IELTS & TOEFL. However, if a student has successfully completed a different English Language Proficiency Qualification, you are encouraged to email us at admissions@themis.com.pk so a member of the Admissions Committee can guide you accordingly.

Students who successfully enroll on the CertHE course at Themis School of Law are also provided with English Language Support classes to ensure enhancement of writing and comprehension skills which will allow our students to perform exceptionally on the UOL Examination.

Entry Requirements Foundation in Law

General Requirements:-

The applicant must normally be aged 17 years or older.

Academic Requirements:-

The applicant must meet the minimum age requirement and must have completed any of the following qualifications:-

Pass in Intermediate with a minimum of 50% (Awaiting result students can apply) | 5 passes in GCE / GCSE O-Level with grades A-C | 3 passes at AS Level

Students with non traditional / other qualifications are encouraged to provide us with the educational documents for eligibility assessment.
